Jake Wightman concludes 2020 with a slew of new lifetime bests and national record
Making the most of a 2020 that no one saw coming, Jake Wightman recorded a gang of new personal bests at 800m and 1500m this season.
Wightman took top honors over 800m at the 59th annual Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava, Czech Republic in a lifetime best 1:44.18. Even better, Wightman’s third-place finish over 1500m in Monaco in 3:29.47 demolished his own Scottish national record and moved him ahead of World and Olympic Champions Steve Cram and Sebastian Coe to second on the all-time British list for 1500m.
