Donavan Brazier wins 2019 IAAF Diamond League title in 1:42.70

Fresh off his second US outdoor title, Donavan Brazier became the first American man to win the IAAF Diamond League title at 800m, storming back from nowhere in the final 150m to win in 1:42.70 at the Weltklasse in Zurich earlier tonight. Brazier came through 400m in 50.7, more than two seconds behind the pacer and much of the field, but closed with a phenomenal 25.7 final 200m to rush by 2012 Olympic silver medalist Nijel Amos in the final meters. Brazier's time of 1:42.70 broke his lifetime best by nearly one second and makes him the second-fastest American in the history of the event.
