Hastings, Merritt win in Rome Diamond League

Natasha Hastings ran away with the victory in the Women's 400m at the Golden Gala in Rome tonight, winning by nearly half a second in a season's bet of 50.54.

In the Men's 110m Hurdles, Aries Merritt won in a time of 13.13, equalling his fastest time of the year. The win also represents Merritt's first IAAF Diamond League win since 2013. Merritt, the 2012 Olympic Champion and world record-holder in the high hurdles, was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2015 and underwent transplant surgery only days after winning the bronze medal at the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Beijing.
